Or, the body doesn’t use insulin the way it should. Both will result in an increased level of glucose in the blood. If left long enough without treatment a whole host of other problems can occur. These include kidney, eye and heart damage.

Type 1 is normally treated with life long insulin injections, together with a strict diet. Where as type 2 is usually caused by the way a person lives their life. By following a strict diet and introducing regular exercise you can greatly help prevent this form of Diabetes.

Diabetes can not be developed from consuming sugary snacks or high fat foods. However, type 2 is strongly linked to obesity which may have a direct result on what you eat.

Diabetes is not contagious

Diabetics can eat sugar, although careful monitoring must be adhered to.
